    GLB Clean

    Mineral Based Nutrients

GLB 10-10-10, GLB Micro DS, Bloom Accelerant 0.5-17-17, 8% Calcium, 2.5% Magnesium, and custom nutrients.

What does “GLB Clean” mineral based nutrients mean?

GreenLife Biotics has Organic and Mineral based nutrients. Mineral based products are classified as synthetic if they cannot qualify for organic certification, the two biggest issues with mineral based nutrients or synthetic fertilizers are the salts and heavy metals within them.

Unless there is a toxicity to the heavy metals, they may not have such a large effect on the plant as it will on humans, so we need them out, but a large percentage of field nutrients are full of them and most people don’t really pay attention.  Regarding salts, the plant can have a large toxicity and can reduce or slow root growth because of it.  Most synthetic ingredients are actual mineral salts, so you can have nutrients that say a 10-10-10 NPK, but less than 1/2 of that is available to the plant.  So, your 10-10-10 may be as low as a 4-4-4 NPK. Salts are not a friend to any plant. There are companies that say salts are good and salts are necessary.  That’s a load of cow manure.  A small amount of sodium is needed for proper growth and salts are actual stresses that plants deal with in most cases at the roots or if salt based nutrients are used as a foliar onto leaves.  Can beautiful plants be grown in salts, of course they can, but until you have seen plants grown without salts, you don’t have any point of reference to what they can do. If salts were good, then why do too much salts have negative affects to proper growth and it can lower growth potential?

The difference with GreenLife Biotics nutrients is that we pull salts and heavy metals from our products to reduce the stress and create a cleaner end product.  There needs to be a small amount of sodium left in the nutrients to properly function and to have the most availability as possible, but it’s an industry that through marketing has convinced the public that salts-based nutrients are good for your soil.

Now outside of pulling the salt out of our nutrients, we do have microbes that feed on salts, and humates that actually mitigate salt stress in the root zone but we want growers to start looking at plants differently.  When the plant is stressed it creates hormones than can stop functions to take care of the stress.  If some of the microorganisms are dealing with the stress they are not working on the growth of the plant. This does not mean the plant does not look healthy or creates a great end product but if that stress was not there could the plant have better quality and/or yield due to less stress.  The answer is YES!

Part of GLB clean is that synthetic nutrients are known for salts but many companies either do not know how or do not care about pulling heavy metals from their products they are just trying to make a buck.  As an example, Phosphorus bonds very closely with arsenic and many companies cannot separate them.  There is an extremely concentrated pH down on the market to reduce the pH level of nutrients solutions or just water.  This product states that their arsenic is less than 53 parts per million.  Most hydroponic products are not where close to over 10 ppm.  I can’t tell you that will affect anyone at such a small dose, but that number is pretty huge, that should be on their website and if it is too embarrassing to put on your website then don’t sell the product.

Outside of the salts, one of the paradigm shifts that we will be pushing in the next few years is holding nutrient and soil companies accountable for heavy metals.  Every company should show what’s in their products good or bad and let the grower make the decision if they want to use their products in their soil or soilless mediums.

Why is organic soil better than non organic fertilizers?

Is it? GLB prefers farmers to grow in organic soil but all too often we find the organic soils have worse toxins than our GLB Clean nutrients. When you have soil that has chicken pellets or cow manure in the soil, you are feeding your plants what those animals were given for food. We too often see high heavy metals. BE CAREFUL of turkey manures and bird manures for that matter and TEST ALL SOILS. In all cases, even when you build your own soil or have someone do it for you, test the final product. Some large Coconut trees farms spray heavily with pesticides, have you tested your coco coir? Many people growing hemp do not realize it is a remediation plant. It will pull up heavy metals from your soil, so if you are adding high amounts of something toxic, there is a high probability they will eventually make it into your plants.

****As a note GreenLife Biotics can remediate heavy metals from soil so if you have contaminated soil with petroleum-based products or heavy metals GLB can put you on a program to clean your soil up. Contact us for more information. ****

What GLB found is we could make fertilizers that are clean and better than many organic sources.  We still believe in being as organic as possible as we are first and biological and humate based nutrient and amendment company.   But let’s talk about the pros and cons of mineral based fertilizers.

What GLB found is we could make fertilizers that are clean and better than many organic sources.  We still believe in being as organic as possible as we are first and biological and humate based nutrient and amendment company.   Let’s talk about what GLB Clean product do not do.

    GLB Clean Does Not

Does Not Kill Microorganisms – technically synthetic fertilizers do not kill bacteria and there is some information out there that they increase fungi, but we wanted to address the myth.  However, salts do have an effect on soil and can create environments that plants will not grow.  Our company manufactures different sets of microbes from enhancers and digesters to much more and they are the basis for our internal lines for both field and indoor applications.

Does Not Add Excess Salts.  We do not add excess salts as they are a stress on plants in indoor settings or the field.  We do not “flush” pots for salts weekly or monthly during the season unless the water source has heavy salts because we do not have too.

Does Not Add Excess Heavy Metals.  We pull out heavy metals in our products and can also remediate soil of heavy metals and petroleum based synthetic nutrients, herbicides and pesticides including glyphosate from soil.

Does Not Act like 99.9% of the Salt Based Nutrient Industry.  Until you see it for yourself, people do not understand the quality that can be obtained from products that have extremely low salt content.

    What GLB Clean Does

Allows growers to know what they are putting into their gardens, farms and grows by looking on their website or at GLBHeavyMetals.com.  Many companies try to hide their information.

Amends soils to make cleaner, more nutrient dense fruits, vegetables, flowers, etc….

Allows growers to become more nutrient efficient using clean nutrients and amendments so less is needed to make healthy end products.

Reduces stress to your soil microorganisms as well as plants with minimal salts.

Helps create larger yields of clean food and medicine in less space.

    GLB Micro DS  Micronutrient

GLB Micro DS is a diluted version of our Concentrate.  The concentrate is 1 mL to 20 gallons and the Micro DS is 1 mL per gallon but there is not difference in price as it is priced accordingly.  Our GLB Micro was separated from the other parts as it is so concentrated, and growers need to have more control over their nutrients.  Micronutrients have a direct impact on secondary metabolites.  They are co factors in enzymes that reduce disease and pest pressure which are the very things hemp growers are looking for which include flavonoids, terpenes and trichomes. We will be addressing how micronutrients and trace mineral affect secondary metabolites in futures posts.

GLB Micro DS is derived from Boric Acid, Copper EDTA, Ammonium Thiosulfate, Manganese EDTA, Zinc EDTA. Molybdenum did not show over the min (<1 ppm). Though Molybdenum (Mo) does not show, it is from the way we process our Mo and we have to show what the report guarantees. Due to the way our organic chemist pulls out salts and heavy metals growers find a very fast uptake and at only 3 mL per gallon as a full dose per week you will see a difference.

*Visibly cleaner looking plants and raises the secondary metabolites – more to come
